Salish Sea Expeditions Marine Career Day: Science, Technology, & Maritime Trades

Sponsored by Port of Seattle, Salish Sea Expeditions Marine Career Day,  was a day for youth who were participating in internships or education and career training programs. Youth were invited to join Salish Sea Expeditions for a day of hands-on exploration of science, technology, and maritime trades:

Overview of the Day: Salish Sea Expeditions hosted dockside marine education programs aboard the organization’s new vessel Elettra III. The focus of these programs is to give area youth the chance to explore marine careers and skill development in three primary areas: science, technology, and trades. Participants conducted oceanographic sampling and toured ship systems aboard Elettra, listened to a presentation by a naval architecture firm, and toured Ballard’s Pacific Fishermen Shipyard.
